Hamper Request Procedure

Hamper Request Procedure

 Rimbey Food Bank 

​Food hampers are provided when a need has been established and individuals meet eligibility criteria.   ​


Food bank is staffed by volunteers,  they are not permitted to transport either food hampers or clients in their vehicles.   ​


As our volunteers are valuable to us we ask that you respect the time  they are dedicating to our community by being on time to pick up your  hamper.  ​

 All clients are required to apply by phone or in-person to the FCSS office.
​Step 1 

-Call the hamper request line 403-843-2030 ext 3 leave your name and phone number and someone will call you back on Tuesday afternoon.

-Be prepared. We may ask some personal questions such as your household income or how many people live in your household.

-You must call ahead and book a hamper before picking up

Step 2

-Once you are approved and a hamper pick up time is given to you by our intake workers, you will pick up at the specified time at our Food Bank.

-Please remember to bring your photo i.d., for children, please bring along their Alberta Health Care card or birth certificate.

Overview

 The people who visit food banks come from all backgrounds.

They include families with children, employed people whose low wages do  not cover basic living essentials, individuals on social assistance, and  Canadians living on a fixed income, including seniors and people with  disabilities.

Food Bank donations of either food or monetary contributions can be  brought to the FCSS office located in the Provincial Building during  office hours.  You may be eligible for a tax receipt.
